For our graphic designers, it is sometimes difficult to explain that the colors on the computer monitor do not always appear the same in print and vice versa. But why is that? Let us explain...
RGB and CMYK are color models that each have different applications. RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue. All other colors are built from these three colors. The RGB color model is also known as the spectrum of light and is used in digital screens, such as in a television or a computer monitor.
The CMYK color model stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (black) and is used in printing and printing work. The colors in printed or printed media are always made up of these four colors. In short, the difference between RGB and CMYK is the application for which it is used.
